Former Pro Futura Scientia Fellow Sia Spiliopoulou Åkermark has been appointed
Professor of Law at Åbo Akademi University.

Spiliopoulou Åkermark was admitted to the Pro Futura Programme in 1999. She was in
residence at the Collegium in the year 2002 and in the spring term of 2003.

Non-resident Long-term Fellow Michael John Watts has been awarded the Ester
Boserup Prize for outstanding development research 2024 by the Copenhagen
Centre for Development Research, University of Copenhagen.

Watts is a Non-resident Long-term Fellow for Programmes on the Political Economy
of Development and Development Policy at SCAS. He was a Senior Global Horizons
Fellow in residence in the academic year 2021-22.
